Ryndam vs. Veendam

If you have been on both Ryndam and Veendam, I would appreciate knowing if one is significantly nicer than the other. We will be be cruising in Alaska, and I have read conflicting reports on both ships. (Our first HAL cruise!)

Thank you so much.

Both RYNDAM and VEENDAM are beautiful ships. There are some very minor differences. On RYNDAM the Ocean Bar is at the after end of the lounge... on the VEENDAM it it at the forward end. Nothing that matters. There is nothing between them that is what I would call 'significant'... unless you hate red dining rooms... in which case you might prefer RYNDAM!

Choose either of them... you won't be disappointed.

I have been on both of these ships and you will enjoy your cruise on either. I am going back on the Ryndam (Pamana Canal) in Jaunary 2007. I will be on the Westerdam in June going to Alaska.

I have been on other lines but always come back to HAL -- I just like feeling like I am someone special and on HAL I feel that way.

Have a good cruise.

The Hal website says that the SOE improvements won't be put into The Veendam til next winter( If I read it right)

Having just come back from the R-dam, and having been on the V-dam twice--- The new beds with SOE on the Rdam sure were nice. I'D VOTE FOR THE RYNDAM TIL SOE DONE ON V-DAM.
