Do you need connecting balcony rooms to take down divider...

We've done this a couple of times - but I have heard of some cases where it's not possible if the cabins happen to straddle a fire containment zone or if there are too many dividers open on a given sailing - also due to fire precautions (although not a likely concern these days!). But overall shouldn't be a problem - it's really nice to have the extended balcony.
