CocoCruiser9640 Posted September 9, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2021 New to this board, hope someone has an answer as Norwegian could not explain to me. My husband and I are booked for an Alaskan Cruisetour. The tour part is first and starts on July 12, 2022. We are booked using NCL air. In researching air options it appears as though we will not be landing until 11:30PM. We made the decision that it would be smarter to fly in a day early so we would relax before the tour starts. Here is my problem, called NCL and they said we could not deviate any more because we have a tour. We are willing to pay extra for the hotel, the NCL rep could give me no reason as to why we could not do this. Does anyone know why they might not allow us to arrive a day early? Thanks in advance! julig22 Posted September 9, 2021 #2 Share Posted September 9, 2021 Assuming you are starting in Fairbanks? If the only commercial flights would get you in at 11:30 pm, it is possible that they are doing a charter, in which case no deviation. I know they do that for Tahiti. They fly everyone to LAX, then use a charter from there.

czimm Posted September 10, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2021 We will be on the same tour with 20+ of our friends and family. Some of us are flying in a day early (getting our own flights). See you in 300ish days!
dlbaker07 Posted September 13, 2021 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2021 We are booked on this cruisetour leaving June 7. We are going to fly in a day early just for this reason. NCL seems inflexible regarding flights and seating on the plane so we will book our own flights.
AtlantaCruiser72 Posted September 13, 2021 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2021 Also be aware that NCL will not disclose the hotel you are staying at in Fairbanks until about 30 days prior to departure and they do use multiple properties in Fairbanks that are nowhere near one another. This makes booking an extra hotel night before the tour a bit of a crapshoot.
CocoCruiser9640 Posted September 14, 2021 Author #7 Share Posted September 14, 2021 Thanks for all the replies. We had wanted to stick with NCL so we could be assured of the same hotel. We are rethinking that idea.
