I played the outside of the roulette table as well.  I was told by a pit boss that I wouldn't see any casino points for playing the tables even though I played for at least an hour  for 3 evenings.  I guess I need to play slots.

tis seems silly, I only play craps on CCL ships and still get Casino offers. there is no one who blows more smoke than a pit boss.

So if you use sail and sign to buy chips with onboard credit you have to pay a service fee?  I guess no service fee on slots when you put card in machine.  Can you play slots, cash out and get money to buy chips?

3% fee.  On slots, you can xfer OBC to your player bank but you can't cash it out until its played.  You can only cash out the winnings.

Technically, the pit boss was correct.  You earn points on slots.  You do not earn points playing blackjack, ultimate hold 'em, etc. but you are "rated" which leads to Players Club offers just as points do.  My daughter spends about as much time playing slots as I do playing hold 'em, but I always get much better offers.

How can you tell when you have played the OBC you downloaded vs when you are into the winnings?  What if you have non refundable OBC, Cruise Cash, and refundable OBC on your S&S card, how do you know what was downloaded into your players bank?  For example we will have $600 in non refundable OBC from a cancelled cruise, $100 shareholder OBC (is this refundable or non refundable?), $50 from our TA (which has always been refundable in the past) and $200 cruise cash.  We will be purchasing drinks, souvenirs, and have our gratuities to pay for out of these as well as any gambling we do.  I'm confused as to how this is handled now.

Not sure about OBC but casino cash shows up in your player bank under casino cash vs player cash.  You have to play through every player bank dollar but any cash won while playing that will show up as player cash and can be cashed out.

We charged the room additional amounts that was offset by OBC but that never appeared in the casino cash bank, only real cash bank.

Maybe someone that had only OBC and not casino cash can answer better.

That’s the way Carnival operates. They give all the great deals to those who seldom cruise. Us poor Platinum and Diamonds don’t get those great offers. My super Hot Streak offer gave me reduced fare and $25 obc on our February 4 day with our Grandson and his wife. My fare was $930 and he got $700 obc, plus a balcony room and drinks on us for both for just under $600!

I'm not sure about this - I'm a non-profitable Diamond (no drinks, no excursions, no casino) was was offered a $129pp balcony cabin on the Pride this week, but my equally non-profitable Platinum Better Half was not. However, he was offered an equally great rate on the Magic last month, and I was not despite having higher status. I don't think anyone knows why they offer what to whom, but we're grateful for both offers (and sailed on both!)

I play slots, and budget $1500 for a 7 day cruise.  I'm diamond and sailed almost a years' worth of days on Carnival and my casino deals are free interior rooms for 5 day cruises.  Perhaps 10 - 15% lower fare for balconies on 7 day cruises.

I've sailed Celebrity a few times, spending the same amount of time and money in their casinos, and I've booked 4 deals for infinity (on Edge and Apex) or regular balconies (Reflection and 9 day Silhouette) for just taxes and port charges, go figure.

Something else that Celebrity has started:

Vacations should be effortless from the start. So, when it comes to your precious vacations, we’ve made your experience more convenient and relaxing by always including our most popular amenities. Now, every Celebrity cruise always includes drinks, Wi-Fi, and tips* on every sailing, in every room, every time. It’s that simple.

We made a point of gambling more on our recent Sunrise cruise - not heavily like I do on land, but we both earned DoU by the third night of the four night cruise.  Hubs got a bounceback offer that didn't include drinks in the casino, and I haven't gotten any casino offers at all.  Maybe next marketing cycle!

Probably not, though, we'll be sailing on the Mardi Gras with friends next week and don't expect to spend much time or money in the casino.  All good - we have a very good (non casino) offer that is pretty good for short cruises.  Once he bids his 'weekend' days for next year, we can start booking up for 2022!

3/2 Roulette strategy is intriguing as well.

I like the strategy, but the $5 minimum makes me not play it often. Really wish they had a video roulette with smaller limits like many casinos have. I suppose you could play corners on the inside to accomplish something similar while spending less, since you could cover 12 spots with just 3 chips.
