Jgarriso Posted September 20, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2021 Like the post below, we have all day in Aruba. We are renting a UTV to explore the back of the island. Then jump on board and shower. Then we figure we will have 4 hours of free time. 6pm - 10pm I have been there once before but it has been years now and i cannot remember what is around the port. So looking for suggestions. The sun set is supposed to be around 6:22 so beach time really isn't an option. We are not clubbers or drinkers. So not really sure what there is to do. Would be open to a beach side dinner somewhere with a night walk on the beach. Anything would be appreciated.
Rare Pirateskigirl Posted October 15, 2021 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2021 I recommend a dinner at Flying Fishbones. You can see the sunset with your fetid the water while you dine on a delicious meal. The restaurant is near the airport.

ARandomTraveler Posted November 15, 2021 #6 Share Posted November 15, 2021 I just got back from a 5 day trip to Aruba yesterday. To be honest, not a ton to do there at night besides eat. We went to the Driftwood restaurant downtown (near the cruiseport) on Thursday night and everything was closed. Downtown looked dead, and there were 2 ships in port. I would recommend taking a taxi down to the “other downtown” area, near the high rise hotels on palm beach (ask the taxi driver to take you to the area across from the Hilton). It’ll cost $13 each way. There’s usually 1 or 2 singers performing outside the restaurants and shops. You can walk around and people watch. Probably won’t take much time, and you’ll have more entertainment on the ship, but it’s something to do. If you can go into one of the hotels, there’s usually shows going on in all of them. Or go to the Bugaloe bar (it’s on a pier between the Riu and Hilton). They have live singers there. But again, it’s a restaurant/bar, so you’d have to buy something to sit there. Some of the hotels also have casinos in them, but so does the ship. I’ve gone to Aruba on a cruise as well, and once the sun went down, the ship was a better place to be. If you’re staying on the island, it’s a different story because you’re usually out having dinner, or hanging out in a lounge at your hotel, but the island is pretty dead at night otherwise.

It takes at least 30 minutes to get there from the ship. The atmosphere is awesome but I think that there are restaurants that have better food closer to the ship. However, it is definitely a great experience. Edited November 17, 2021 by Hatteras51

I agree with heading to Palm Beach at night. I usually recommend that to cruisers. There's so much more to do there.

West Deck is one of our favorite restaurants. It has very casual food, and a great laid back vibe. It sits along the water and has gorgeous sunsets.

beachluver9 Posted November 24, 2021 #12 Share Posted November 24, 2021 We have done the Black Pearl evening trip before and enjoyed it. It leaves from Palm Beach near the Marriott. It was very quiet and relaxing. They don't serve a full meal, but had lots of snacks and yummy grilled cheese sandwiches so we did not leave hungry.
