jbobst Posted September 21, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2021 I've looked all over the cruise manager/planner and I cannot see the amount of onboard credit that our booking has allotted. Our travel agent says she see's it and it's in her travel agent invoice, but does Carnival not show the amount anywhere in the booking? Like many of you, we have quite a bit of credit based on all the cancellations and other things. I realize it's called onboard credit, not pre-cruise credit, but I'd like to take advantage of pre-cruise bookings (like the spa), but I guess you can't use onboard credit until you board, which means possibly higher prices compared to buying things prior to the sailing? vwrestler171 Posted September 21, 2021 #3 Share Posted September 21, 2021 It will show up on your invoice after you complete your check in, starting 14-16 day from your sail date.
sweetalyssum Posted September 21, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 21, 2021 I couldn’t find it either, but I stumbled upon it. Look at your Documents, then look for Booking Summary, and it’s right there!
Caribbean Drifters Posted September 21, 2021 #5 Share Posted September 21, 2021 I can see my OBC in my email from Cabin Confirmation in the invoice, i'm quite a ways away from checking in. 1
SNJCruisers Posted September 21, 2021 #6 Share Posted September 21, 2021 Yes, there will be higher prices on things like Cheers or spa stuff once you're on board versus paying ahead of time. Expect a 10% difference with Cheers and possibly the same with spa stuff.
Rare BoozinCroozin Posted September 21, 2021 #7 Share Posted September 21, 2021 OBC can be used onboard. There is a loophole that I was told about that I could make a dinner reservation through email and then pay with OBC at that time. I have the reservation and have not paid for it yet. So that is a positive. People that have been able to use OBC successfully are keeping it a bit of a secret. I have read that the newer ships have technology that can separate canceled cruise OBC from TA OBC which doesn't allow you using it in slots then cashing out. We only have $900 OBC. Between daily fees and the one dinner, $450 of it is gone already. Since everything else is already paid for, if I can't use it in casinos, then not sure what I will use it on. If they can separate the $600 from the $300 from my TA, then I can use the $300 TA OBC in the casino. That will leave me with only $150 to spend on souvenirs and stuff. (Cruise is this Saturday, so I went to the "print documents" and included the additional checkbox with invoice and it's there)

On the Breeze, there was not a selection to download OBC to a slot machine, but you could charge to your room. (e.g. OBC available of $100, charge $150 to your room results in a credit card charge of $50)

They gave me a number to call, nice woman said she could see it, so she emailed a copy of what she could see. I wanted it in writing - in the past there have been times I had to argue for credits I had on booking but didn't have in writing.
