Viva Vino

Assuming they still offer it, I have a question about the Vivo Vino package.  Are those bottles delivered to your room or are they only for consuming in a restaurant?  (Meaning is it simply pre-paying for bottles at dinner?). And can you order in advance or only onboard?

I used it in 2017 and they were not delivered to you but instead you could request them any time at any restaurant or bar. Don’t remember how they tracked the unopened bottles.
If the bottle was already open it could take some time to bring it.

We have not cruised yet this year, so my information could, for certain, be obsolete!

When you board the ship there will be a table set-up for Viva Vino packages. If you don't easily find it, ask a crew member (especially at any bar).

There are (at least, used to be) three price-points/quality levels.

Select your package and you will be given something to verify that you have purchased.  Go to any open restaurant or bar for your bottle(s).  If you wish to take them to your room, you may do so.  If you want them all held for you.  When you present your "ticket/receipt," they will bring you what you request from your available selection.  If you want a bottle/bottles returned to "HOLD," just request that, and make sure your have your ticket/receipt for any bottle(s)placed on hold.

The process for bottle retrieval could be a little slow, but we never had any major wait times.

When you buy the Vino package, you are given a book of tickets and each time you want a bottle, you give a ticket in exchange .. you can redeem them in the restaurants or at any bar and you can take one or more bottles to your cabin if you like  If you only drink some of the bottle the barman/waiter will keep the rest for you and give you a receipt which you present when you want to pick up the rest of the bottle.

FYI, you are responding to a question asked over a year ago.

Last week was the first post-restart cruise that we have taken where Viva Vino was offered. Prior cruises had not offered it.
