corballypaudie Posted October 3, 2021 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2021 Just wondering how strict Msc are with embarkation time, from what i can see we don't go on board till 4pm ...should we try getting on earlier .
Rare Beamafar Posted October 3, 2021 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2021 They don’t check embarkation times at the port. The times are allocated to control the numbers arriving at any given time. There will be those allocated an early embarkation time that probably will arrive later and vice versa.
drdan85 Posted October 3, 2021 #3 Share Posted October 3, 2021 Yeah back in August they didn't check my time (that I know of) and I was a little early. However, I'm not sure if the YC tent ran differently than the other operations. We checked in there and were escorted straight to the lab testing area. I'm going to try going early to see what happens for my December trip haha. Enjoy your cruise!

This is 100% correct. On my 2nd post covid cruise and nothing was checked either time. Personally, I beleive the times given are just random and in some cases (i.e., embarkation times after the ship is scheduled to leave), MSCs attempt at humor 😀
Rare Tapi Posted October 3, 2021 #5 Share Posted October 3, 2021 On our Sept 3rd sailing from Miami, we had a 10:00am embarkation time. When we arrived at the port, there were people sitting on the sidewalk waiting to check in, but they were not allowed to do so until their assigned time. I don’t know how strict MSC was later in the day, but at 10:00am, they were only allowing people who specifically had that embarkation time. We later realized that everybody with that time (including us) were families with small children who were too young to be vaccinated, so an additional test at the port was required. qroozr Posted October 3, 2021 #6 Share Posted October 3, 2021 We received a time of 10AM to 11AM for upcoming October sailing. Notation was if not there by 11AM might have a LONGGGG wait. Could be scare tactics or simply a *PLEASE* follow our instructions to make boarding easier FOR ALL!!!
