craigtompkins Posted October 5, 2021 #1 Share Posted October 5, 2021 Can anyone post some info about the smoke free casino on the Magic? I'm particularly looking for: Where is it and what table games are in there? I assume Black Jack. What about "Let it Ride"?
Rare BoozinCroozin Posted October 5, 2021 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2021 Wrong forum. What I have seen in videos, it is on Deck 4 where the Conference Room once was. From what I saw they have most table games other than craps.
ShadowyTime Posted October 6, 2021 #3 Share Posted October 6, 2021 (edited) I just returned this past Saturday from the Magic. The smoke free Casino Annex does NOT have Let It Ride. There is only one table in the main casino and I will say that the amount of smoking that was going on was far less than ever in the past. Its small but it was pretty empty most of the cruise. Drink service was very fast. They had blackjack, poker and one roulette table which is what i was at mostly. They also had a decent amount of slots. Not sure if the smoke was more or less in the main casino but i will say once your down in the smokefree casino you can tell the difference when you walk through the one on deck 5. This was my first time on the Magic and i remember looking at the floor plans and saying to myself (man who needs all the conference room space on deck 4, that's such a waste) i had no idea that they made it into a casino until i was on board.

The fact that everyone keeps saying that the non-smoking casinos aren't very busy is the very reason that they won't stick around.

I doubt it. The staff is very limited, its mostly slots...maybe 8 tables total and not all of them were filled so not much staff at all. They already bought all the extra machines, it would probably cost more to get rid of them then to keep it going. Plus not many people knew it was there, word needs to get out.

Actually, in August on the Magic, the smoke free casino was busy every night! We got there early to get the machines we wanted. I wouldn't say it was overly packed, but there weren't nearly as many people just standing around drinking and smoking like the main casino. If you were in there, you were there to gamble.

Maybe the reason they aren't very busy is most people don't know it's there! Funny how smokers always think they are in the majority.

Never touched the stuff, but I call it how I see it, plus I have friends that are casino hosts and they say that the non-smoking casinos bring in far less revenue than expected so far. Did the blackjack in the smoke free casino include the fun21 game? Since you were mostly playing roulette you may not have noticed . . . .

beanie315 Posted October 9, 2021 #18 Share Posted October 9, 2021 I was on the Magic for 10 days last month and the smoke free casino was not crowded at all. I went down there a few times to try my luck there and the most people I saw there was when we had our slot pull.
Bostwick girl Posted October 12, 2021 #19 Share Posted October 12, 2021 Just back from a 4 day on Magic. This was second since August 30. Everyone’s experience is different, but we found the non smoking casino to be pretty busy every time we went, both the slots and tables. The main casino was much less smoky since you have to be actively playing to smoke. Also had to mention to a few people that they were playing/smoking on the non smoking side. The answer was always “oh I didn’t know”. If you put your card in to play, the no smoking symbol is right next to it. One person was vaping on non smoking. My friend mentioned to them it was a non smoking machine and she said she didn’t know vaping was smoking!
Rare Super27 Posted October 12, 2021 #20 Share Posted October 12, 2021 The non-smoking casino was never very busy when I was on the Magic in late September. One thing I wish Carnival would do is take some of the "bubble craps" machines that they used to have in some of the main casinos and put them in the non-smoking one, since they do not have a craps table down there. We were on the Breeze in September and enjoyed the smoke-free casino even though it was (of course) noticeably smaller. It wasn't too busy the first night, but seemed to get busier throughout the cruise - except in the very late evenings it was almost empty. I don't do tables so I am not sure which ones were there, but I know they had 2 (if I remember correctly), but a good variety of updated slots. Service was great and we were comped dinner one night at the Cocina del Capitano (delish). We played some slots in the main casino, but it too smoky, plus they were showing a football game on the screen at the bar, so it was very crowded. Yes, there is certainly more energy at the main casino, but I sure enjoyed the smoke-free casino. HTH.
