Mixed Vaccine and Flights to US

Hi everyone,

Just looking to confirm for a friend that a Canadian traveler with mixed vaccines (not recognized by the US  - IE. AZ-Moderna), will still be able to fly into the US with proof of negative antigen/molecular test, being considered unvaccinated.  The IATA site just sates testing requirement and that quarantine upon arrival is recommended, so I assume not mandatory.

Has anyone had experience flying with mixed vaccinations?  I have a couple travelling as a group (not all cruising) to Florida.  The AZ mixed vaccinated are just looking at staying at their Florida home as a group, while some of us will be later embarking on a cruise.

TIA

At the current time, there is no vaccination requirement, only one for an antigen test.

Come November, however, things will change when the US opens up its borders to travellers to the UK and Europe and require them to be fully vaccinated. At that point, Canadians too will be faced with the additional requirement. AFAIK,  the specific date in November still hasn't been announced.

What is uncertain at this point and subject to ongoing discussions between the many affected countries and the US is what vaccinations will be accepted. Or more accurately, what vaccination mixes will be accepted.

October 21 may see further developments with respect to the land border restrictions. If so, those may well include a vaccination requirement and foreshadow the pending flight requirements.

Bottom line: tell your friends to get down there before November.

Thank you!  That is what I was thinking after researching it further.
