Dining credit from travel agent

Our Big Box TA has given us a $50 dining credit.   We've booked many cruises through them and this is the first time we've received a dining credit.

 

I asked them if the credit had to be used for dining and was told that was what the credit was identified as but to go to Guest Services and ask if it can be transferred over to an OBC to be used on something else.  

 

Has anyone had a dining credit (not from Celebrity) and been able to have it transferred to OBC?

 

This is for the Reflection in November.

You can use it for anything you want. It's probably showing up in your cruise planner already.

It will probably be put on your account to use as you wish.

We get the same from our big box and it’s just counted as any other OBC (and it’s refundable)

We had a dining credit from a big box TA and it showed on our account as refundable OBC.

We received the $50 dining credit also and it was in our cruise planner and deducted from total owed for shore excursions we booked at check out.

May take a day or so to appear on the account.

as said above, it will be shown as an OBR, meaning refundable on board credit.  If you dont use it be the end of the cruise you will get a credit back to your CC on file.  Enjoy

Everyone, thanks for all the replies.   On my confirmation from Big Box, it says "USD 50 dining credit per stateroom."    The TA said it was specifically negotiated for specialty dining but I could try to see if Guest Services would exchange it for OBC.   I'm not so sure the rep was giving me the correct information.

 

But from what people are saying, it sounds like it can be used as OBC or will be refunded if I don't use it.   So this is good news.
