we were just on deck 9 on Harmony and loved it.

You have to buy the insurance before the final payment date.

All other things being equal (in terms of cabin location on the deck), I’d select deck 6.  I like deck 8 also, but that is not among your options.  Even if your physical condition require an elevator ride to change floors, at least on deck six you’ll have some boardwalk and a bar without an elevator ride.
