They show feature films in the theatre in the day.  You can bag a private box for nothing if you wish or at least we did last cruise.

 

Gratuities are charged daily onto your onboard account.  You may attend the pursers desk, reception and request these be removed or adjusted to what suits you.  This is considered inappropriate by some traditional cruisers.  You may then give out tips in cash as you wish but this could be done anyway irrespective of whether you request the automatic gratuities being removed.

We embarked on 1 November. So far, as of Friday, there have been 2 movies shown in the theatre, but about 3/4 continuously shown on TV every day.

 

We have quite a few port days to come in the next week, so I doubt there will be many more in the theatre.

 

If you're a movie buff, then Cunard may not be your best choice.

Doesn't QM2 have a dedicated cinema? A long time since I was on her, but doesn't the planetarium double up?

Today for example, on QE, they are showing Six Minutes to Midnight in the theatre at 2:00pm. Not exactly a new film.

 

However, on the subject of the theatre, I am pleased to report that the new cast performed brilliantly a few nights ago with their show "Be Our Guest". A fair proportion was from The Greatest Showman and was very well done. The whole theatre gave them a standing ovation. Really fabulous!

There are films shown at slack times in the Theatre, then shown again on the tv in your cabin.
