Freedom Sold-Out for November?

Recommended Posts

So I booked a cruise using a Casino Royale promotion for a weekend Bahamas cruise.  The ship is showing sold out which surprises me because they gave me a cabin about 3 weeks ago.  the weekend before and after are also extremely expensive so they too must be well booked.  I am under the assumption that the ships are still at reduced capacity, and a friend that was on the ship recently said there were 1400 on board for his cruise.  His was the M-F cruise so I think those tend to be lighter than the weekend ones to begin with.  My question is do you think it is safe to assume that there will not be 4500 passengers on my sailing?  Probably more than his 1400 but still not to max capacity?

According to a very recent blog, Freedom has already cruised at 85% capacity at least once.  She seems to be leading the pack on capacity ramp up.

interesting.  Part of me hopes for more people to have the real cruising feel.  I enjoy the people and people watching, but the other part says a less crowded ships would be welcome as well.  Should be interesting

There is no chance whatsoever that she will be sailing with 4500 since that is the absolute maximum with all 3rd and 4th berths filled.

Yes, she sails with far more passengers on the weekend cruises than on the weekday cruises.

But if you were told that there were no cabins available by the casino rep, that would be because the casino only gets so many cabins.  There could be cabins available to paying customers.  🙂

Feel the same.  Doing Explorer out of San Juan later this month, but pretty sure we’ll be at 50% or so at most since she’s just starting up.  On Harmony and Mariner in Jan and expect a full-house feel.

Her rated capacity with two passengers per stateroom is ~3,800. If the statement that she is sailing at 85% capacity (which I believe was based on a statement by Richard Fain on CNBC that has been misinterpreted), it would be based off of the 3,800 number, not the 4,500 number. I would be surprised if there were actually more than 3,000 passengers on board - more likely in the 2,000-2,500 range.
