Rare niksmom630 Posted November 15, 2021 Author #28 Share Posted November 15, 2021 Just finished up our overpriced hotel breakfast, and got notified our pre-reserved Uber is here early. I continue to get notifications to not arrive early. 🙃 I never delete my text messages, and happened to scroll thru previous ones from this RCI number …… ah the good old days when Zika was your biggest worry…..
Rare niksmom630 Posted November 15, 2021 Author #29 Share Posted November 15, 2021 Forgot my little brief intro! We are Chris and Rick from Chicago. Traveling with our long time cruising partners and my brother in law. We had a balcony cabin booked initially and decided to try for a royal up. Got a jr suite on deck 7…..our friends for an upgrade to a large ocean view balcony…. Curious to see the size of this balcony. # 7232
Rare niksmom630 Posted November 15, 2021 Author #30 Share Posted November 15, 2021 We had a Caribbean cruise booked on Odyssey in February….cancelled 😞 Then a 9 night Rome to celebrate DD’s graduation….. cancelled 😞 So then we were supposed to be on a 9 night southern Caribbean this month (which was also supposed to be the US inaugural) Then got switched to a 5 night, then NOT an inaugural. We contemplated canceling a few times, but then decided we’d keep the booking. As luck would have it, timing was perfect, because on Friday, after 39 years of toiling away in corporate America, I decided to start enjoying life full time instead! happy retirement to meeeeeeee! 🥳🍷
Rare niksmom630 Posted November 15, 2021 Author #31 Share Posted November 15, 2021 Check in was relatively painless. There were a few lines outside with the designated early check in slots . We walked in the suites entrance. Our friends were not In suite and had 11:30 boarding time, and we wound up boarding with them around 11:45 First stop, Lime and Coconut bar current view
Rare niksmom630 Posted November 15, 2021 Author #32 Share Posted November 15, 2021 Photos coming up…. Made all Show reservations and North Star via the app. It’s cumbersome if you cant see the show schedules all at once, like this sheet which was waiting in our cabin North Star free reservation slots go fast. We booked a paid one because I wanted the specific time and date. We were unable to get chops or teppanyaki on Day 3, despite boarding first.
Rare niksmom630 Posted November 15, 2021 Author #33 Share Posted November 15, 2021 Cabin photos. Very spacious. Love the “two” bath rooms —one with sink and toilet, one with shower, tub and sink

jonj Posted November 15, 2021 #36 Share Posted November 15, 2021 There is ice cream in WJ as well, no the soft serve stuff. Plus makings for sundaes. Friend was on the trade 2nt cruise and was taking photos of different areas showing WJ.

Rare perfect match Posted November 16, 2021 #39 Share Posted November 16, 2021 Congratulations on your retirement, @niksmom630. Hope you enjoy it as much as we’re enjoying ours! I don’t know who thought those pool loungers were a good idea! I could probably get myself out of one of them, but it sure wouldn’t be pretty! 😱 I’ve seen them on beaches, too. 🤔

They are surprisingly quite comfortable, and not that low….. easy to get out of!

Rare niksmom630 Posted November 16, 2021 Author #43 Share Posted November 16, 2021 Ok, let me see if I can catch up with a few photos over 3G with my Intl Day Pass…… think I mentioned our friends had that “spacious” ocean view balcony cabin…..7232….. Holy Bowling Alley, Batman! sadly, they could have brought in some extra furniture to make better use of this space, but they did not 😞
Rare niksmom630 Posted November 16, 2021 Author #44 Share Posted November 16, 2021 Nice table in the MDR for dinner last night, but that view and the key lime cheesecake were the highlight. the prime rib was REALLY bad. Hoping it was just a fluke. Im usually pretty happy in the MDR. In face, on our Symphony sailing, every meal was great. I made up for it by gorging myself for breakfast in the solarium bistro. Great spot for breakfast. A much more peaceful vibe than the windjammer
Rare niksmom630 Posted November 16, 2021 Author #45 Share Posted November 16, 2021 My friend got a killer rate on the Coco beach club beach cabana. $599……..so worth it! The plantings and trees are so well thought out. I could probably spend hours here just walking around with my camera 💕🌴 retirement goals….

Rare niksmom630 Posted November 16, 2021 Author #48 Share Posted November 16, 2021 There will DEFINITELY be no dinner this evening. 🤤 dessert was gone before I could capture any pictures. going to need a nap before the show tonight….. after dinner last night we stopped in the royal shop. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a shop on any ship this well stocked. Must be an inaugural thing…..

Mabel the Great..Dane Posted November 16, 2021 #50 Share Posted November 16, 2021 I am going on the Odyssey in March. At the risk of sounding nosy do you mind telling me how much you bid for your jr. suite? It seems so tempting. I'm just afraid I'll give up my decent balcony view (7532) and get an obstructed view.
