  1. I could have waited until we boarded Connie on Thursday to book, but did not want to worry about price increase...and being still the 75 % off deal....I booked online. And since it was a tag on to an already B2B...making it a B3B...did not want to worry about missing out on same cabin.
  2. I spread the five I made (total including both Chef's Table and Manfredis) over 45 days of our Grand Journey. If after a few visits we don't want to go again...pretty simple to just cancel the remainder.
  3. PS2-Junior Suite. Grand Journey of which Viking insisted on taking my Australia Venus cruise and combining it with the NZ Orion cruise that are different ships and not even same disembarkation/embarkation dates. Not my choice. 😠 But the one good thing was to be able to make dining and shore reservations for both cruises at the same time.
  4. I was offered 3 times each. Not sure why.
  5. I went for my limit on booking Chef's Table, and close to it for Manfredis for our January Venus cruise. 😋
  6. Any of the crew that we have ever talked to over the years, will tell you how much they hate those 3-4 night cruises indeed. Never, ever had one that told me they enjoyed them.
  7. We were very happy they did away with the mini bar stock on RCI. Now...we are on Celebrity Equinox...mini bar in here again. 😛
  8. Agree there. The bartenders and waiters on Serenade were really bummed out that Serenade, coming off the WC was going to do the shorter cruises.
  9. It was even bigger during what I term as the "mini bar scam". More times than not... I would get home after a cruise and see a small charge on my bill that was not there the morning I left. The principal of the matter had me call GS. It was always a mini bar charge. 😡 Indeed the pax that did not bother with it....adds up to $$ money maker for RCI.
  10. Draw down my signature and take a look at the first set of cruises in my history. Then ask me that again. 😉 And....I am on a four night cruise, boarding this morning. Believe me...IMHO....there is a difference. Now try cruises of that length from Miami. I should say, how many long cruises have you been on in comparison. I just recently disembarked a 62 night cruise. Difference? Oh yes.
  11. Yup, and as I would teach a wine class to waiters as to being The Golden Rule of Wine: "The best wine is the wine you like the best!" 😉 Hey, I see you like the Equinox. We are climbing aboard for a "quickie" 4 night tomorrow to check her out. 🙂 Already have her booked end of next year for 28 nights out of Buenos Aires.
  12. Oh...Ken, you may have just jinxed yourself. 😉 😄
  13. Star is replacing her here in Port Canaveral late August 2025. Wonder, sadly for us....is transferring to Miami for the 3/4 night booze cruises.
  14. I like it as well....errrr...IMHO....actually just about any SB with a recent vintage from the Marlborough region of NZ is good. 🙂 But taste (as art work) is always subject palate of each person. 😉
  15. Interesting...not what I was told, though that could be right, since I have several of them booked through to 2026. 😉
  16. Thanks Dave! Finally...our first X cruise! Just a four night "check it out" out of local port here. 🙂
  17. Totally agree there. One of the favorite areas of the ship during Serenade World Cruise for us was the concierge lounge for predinner cocktails. Was much quieter than our usual choice of the Viking Crown Lounge, and we got to know the regulars in there quickly. Everyone knew everyone's names and was like "Cheers" when the usuals would come in. 😉 63 nights the first quarter, then...most of the same pax when we reboarded for the last quarter of 62 nights. All over the ship, including the rest of the lounges, the dining room, events, etc......we knew so many people. Coming back on board for that last quarter was like old home week.
  18. Thanks Ken, could not remember the number....but I won't let them do it again. 😠
  19. It used to happen a lot in the past to us, especially during the "mini bar" scam. The charge would show up after you left the ship. Has not happened to us for awhile, but it happened again for us on last cruise. They charged us for a beer in the dining room, even though it was supposed to go to our vouchers (which we had a lot of left that day). This charge showed up (of course) AFTER we left the ship. I guess I could have called and went after them for it, but didn't bother. Then you think of all the people like me, that do not call them about it....that really adds up.
  20. Part of the "free drinks" for packages and vouchers on RCI, and also my favorite wine...but never seems to be a given it will be in stock on RCI ships. They are out, more than having it in stock. Was hoping it will be on Equinox tomorrow when I board, but now I realize that won't happen apparently.
  21. My app says 12:30 for embarkation on Equinox tomorrow. This is also for B2B pax, and Zenith as I understand.
