A few words about the cabin features..

LOVE the dual outlets for European plugs and USA plugs.

If you bring adapters it gives you twice the charging space.

Also the outlets and USB ports on both sides of the bed.

LOVE the cabin hair dryer!  I actually contacted guest services at the Explorer's Desk about purchasing one.. they called me back with many apologies and said they didn't sell them on this particular cruise.

TUESDAY - Good morning Sete, France.

Packed a breakfast sandwich to go on our all day tour as it was too early for me to eat.

 

 

 

Filled out the daily health survey on the App.  I will spare you the picture of the saliva samples of the day.😝

Today we were up early for a full day optional tour to Carcassone. 

Halfway there we stopped for a bathroom break and spotted the world's largest Toblerone bar and a bag of gummies with #lifegoals.

Carcassone was amazing! I have always seen it on travel shows and to actually be there in person was a thrill.

Back to the ship in time for that evening's lecture.  We went to all of the lectures that were offered almost daily in the Star Theater.

All 3 of the guest speakers were absolutely wonderful.

WEDNESDAY - Good morning Marseille, France.

This was our only rainy day and it was actually a good one to be rainy.  We took the included morning tour of Marseille and most of it was on a bus anyway.

In the afternoon the rain stopped and the sun even poked its head from behind the clouds.  We took the ship's shuttle into town and walked around on our own.

A word about the weather.  The forecast was for rain almost every day and yet it turned out that this morning was the only few hours out of the 7 days that we needed an umbrella.  So if you check the weather for the week before your upcoming cruise and it looks like a washout don't be dismayed..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bought 1 euro pizza which is now up to 1.20 euro pizza.

The world's shortest and least expensive ferry ride.  25 cents and 2 minutes from one side of the harbor to the other.

Late that afternoon was the "Explorer's Society" party which was a lovely celebration to toast past Viking guests in the Star Theater.  We got a chance to chat with our cruise director Gary Jerry or Jerry Gary as we thought his name was the first day.  Super nice.. super warm.. super talented.. always a smile and so funny too!

Loved his line.. "There is no inappropriate weather.. just inappropriate clothing."

Masks pulled down for a moment just to take the picture.

Dinner in the main dining room which is called simply "The Restaurant."  Another great meal.

Our Dover Sole was expertly deboned by our waiter.

THURSDAY - Good morning Villefranche Sur Mer, France.

We were originally supposed to be docked right in the heart of Monaco but a few weeks before we sailed the port was changed to Villefranche Sur Mer.
