MamatoJack Posted November 19, 2021 #26 Share Posted November 19, 2021 It does sound like anyone (any means of travel) going for less than 72 hours doesn't need the test to fly home (still need antigen to fly there). Airlines will be so confused I'm sure. From the article on CBC: "Starting on Nov. 30, fully vaccinated Canadians taking short trips abroad will no longer need proof of a negative COVID-19 test to return home, Ottawa confirmed on Friday. The federal government said the test exemption will apply to fully vaccinated Canadians and permanent residents who depart and re-enter Canada within 72 hours. The rule will also apply to unvaccinated people with a right of entry if they are under the age of 12 and accompanied by their fully vaccinated parents or have certain medical conditions preventing them from being vaccinated." I almost want to plan a day trip across the border...

When we were younger, we thought nothing of driving down to Seattle to visit a favourite restaurant and then driving home again!!

Looks like we will have to wait for the official announcement for the 'truth'. This is only for residents of BC that are affect by the Floods that occurred last week. If you live in south western BC . You can cross the border to get essentials like food and gasoline. Also if you need to drive to the Vancouver area thru the US from the interior of BC to get home. You can drive and a PCR test isn'y required to reenter Canada.

The BC situation, regarding testing, shows that common sense still exists. And so does miscommunication, but they got that sorted out.
