With current COVID check-in process, can I leave the terminal?

Sailing out of Miami (if that matters). It used to be that you could check in, and leave the terminal if you wanted to site-see etc in Miami. With the new allocated time slots for check-in, is that still possible? Or once you're through check-in, you cannot leave for any reason?

B2B cruisers who want to go out of the terminal are given a card to indicate that they are in transit.  You could ask for one of those,  but wouldn't count on getting much sight-seeing in before you had to be back on the ship.  If you can get an in transit card, it would probably take you a bit of time to chase down someone who could give it to you. There is nothing around the port in  Miami  except other ships.  You are better off doing your sight-seeing before you board or after you depart.

We did the following in Seattle.

We dropped off all of our luggage early in the AM when they opened. Spent the res of the day exploring Seattle. Came back later in the day and "officially" checked in and boarded. Had no issues.

Issue I see with Miami is the transportation. Lot's  of traffic in area. We sailed Freedom in OCT and wanted to do the same thing, but traffic and other delay's quickly changed our minds and we opted to just board ship.

Good luck and enjoy your trip!

Yup.  Agreed on the traffic.  We were in Miami a few days back just visiting.  The traffic there is horrible due to constructions.  I would not risk it.

On our October 10-24 B2B on Allure, if you took one of the in transit cards you were informed that when you got back to the terminal you would join the end of the check-in line to get back on board. Not worth the hassle.
