brilliantseas Posted December 8, 2021 Author #126 Share Posted December 8, 2021 Chocolate Panna Cotta I would rate it as "average" overall, but above average for a no-sugar-added dessert.
brilliantseas Posted December 8, 2021 Author #127 Share Posted December 8, 2021 Missed the 8:30 comedy show. Punchliner is proving to be exceptionally popular on this sailing. Renier, the comedy club manager, is now recommending people arrive 30+ minutes early to guarantee a seat. It could have something to do with only having 3 shows a night instead of 4-5 as I'm used to seeing on Carnival sailings. The last show on this cruise is a 10:30. The 11:30/midnight shows are not on the schedule despite sailing with four comedians onboard. I guess I'll grab a ThirstyFrog Caribbean Wheat over at the Red Frog Pub instead. Yay! Portrait images are uploading with the correct rotation today!

brilliantseas Posted December 8, 2021 Author #130 Share Posted December 8, 2021 Wonderful conversation with some new friends at Alchemy Bar tonight. Katsiaryna from Belarus made me a custom cocktail at the Alchemy Bar. Her version of a Kentucky Mule with muddled fresh ginger, Woodford Reserve, fresh lime juice, ginger beer, and garnished with fresh sliced ginger and mint.
brilliantseas Posted December 8, 2021 Author #131 Share Posted December 8, 2021 Another guest ordered Absinthe, which Kat mixes with water and sugar. The couple had mixed reactions to the drink. Fascinating to watch this pour...

brilliantseas Posted December 8, 2021 Author #133 Share Posted December 8, 2021 Kat's second custom cocktail. I told her that I enjoy bourbon and tequila. She came up with this Patron spicy mango margarita that she says was her roommate's favorite on her previous ship. It was not overly spicy, but I enjoyed it despite not being a fan of mango.

We got to listen to Edd a couple of times and if you have a few moments it's worth parking yourself for a drink to give him a listen.

brilliantseas Posted December 8, 2021 Author #145 Share Posted December 8, 2021 The marvelous Henry and his assistant, "Superman" Wilmer, are serving breakfast in the Truffles Restaurant this morning. Breakfast is served on port days from 7:00 to 9:00 on Deck 2 (lower level) of the Truffles Restaurant. The menu is different from the Sea Day Brunch menu. brilliantseas Posted December 8, 2021 Author #146 Share Posted December 8, 2021 I'm really enjoying the app-based restaurant check-in that is utilized for Your Time Dining, as well as breakfast and brunch in the MDR and most of the alternative dining venues onboard Carnival ships since the re-start. I check in when I'm leaving my cabin and have a table number assigned before I reach the hostess stand at the restaurant. Even on elegant night, the wait for a table was less than 10 minutes on a sailing that is around 85% capacity (1,800 pax / 2,124 lower berths). Upon arrival at the dining room, you show your table number to the hostess and are seated immediately. No more pager system or waiting at the hostess stand for them to assign a table and print a slip.
brilliantseas Posted December 8, 2021 Author #147 Share Posted December 8, 2021 Buttermilk waffles with caramel apple compote, spiced macaroons, and maple flavored syrup, with a side of chicken sausage and strawberry banana yogurt. Henry tells me they do not currently have the regular banana yogurt due to supply issues.
brilliantseas Posted December 8, 2021 Author #148 Share Posted December 8, 2021 Lots of construction taking place at the cruise port in Nassau as they re-build the old shops and replace concrete on the piers. Some of the shore excursions currently meet immediate outside of the mid-ship gangway. It appears to be causing a bit of a traffic jam.
brilliantseas Posted December 8, 2021 Author #149 Share Posted December 8, 2021 "Must See in Nassau" and "Blue Lagoon Island" excursion groups are departing. The line of guests for these tours extends nearly the full length of the pier. The "Sea & See" Tour appears to have a much smaller group.
