Does anyone know if there is access at Blue Lagoon island Beach for snorkeling or should we book an excursion.  We are going in March.  Also, will the water temp be conducive for this?

The access to snorkeling is very rocky. It is across the lagoon, in open water. We've been to Blue Lagoon twice, both times in March, and the open water was too cold for me (the lagoon is shallow and protected, and hence warmer.) We did bring our gear, but it was not worth the effort to try to use it. I would recommend that you book an excursion.
