Ultimate dinning package questions

We are looking at trying the ultimate dinning package for the first time. We know lunch is included on sea days, does this include embarkation day?  Is it easy to make the reservations once we board the ship?

You should be able to make reservations online prior to boarding.

We are on Odyssey right now with the UDP not sure about embarcation day since we headed straight to Cafe 270 for a beef on wek! But I can say it was very easy to make reservations for the entire week. We stopped by Giovanni's to find out where we were eating that night (the ship normally dictates the 1st night) and he said we didn't have any reservations so we made the whole weeks worth with him for all the different restaurants.  Some time slots were already filled up.  So I suggest doing it early.

With the package you can not make reservations before boarding on line.  We go straight to one of the restaurants when we board and make the reservations for the week.  We have not tried to go on embarkation day, but have gone on port days when we did not want to go ashore and were not charged.

Not with the UDP?  I couldn't find a spot to do that. Maybe I'm wrong?

yes, it includes lunch on embarkation day.  Just got off the Indy yesterday.  Had the package, ate in Chops for lunch.  No reservation needed.  Was only a few in there. When you get on board, go to one of the restaurants and make your reservations for your entire cruise.  you can't make them online ahead of time.  They schedule the first night for you.   Was very easy, the restaurants weren't crowded most nights.  Playmakers was good, we did that for afternoon snacks.  ha

Embarkation lunch is included.  You have to wait and make reservations on board.  Pre Covid it was very easy

No you can't make them in advance

if we are in a GS or above, we ask the concierge to make them before we board (when we receive his/her email).  Never an issue and probably the only think we ask the concierge to do.
