Travelling with mom, sister and 4 kids - (2) 14 yr olds, 12 year old and and 10 year old. Wondering if anyone can give suggestions on excursions for San Juan. Never been a fan of San Juan I feel it's way too commercialized. Looking for an excursion that gives us some history.

Assuming you actually get to port in San Juan with the new restrictions, Old San Juan is very easy to do on your on. Just take an Uber / Taxi (or free shuttle if running) to the El Morro Fort, then it’s a downhill walk back through town to the pier. There are museums, churches, great architecture, shops, restaurants, bars, parks, etc. along the way.

If that isn’t of interest, the El Yunque rain forest may be a good option. If your stays until late at night, kayaking on the bioluminescent lake would be something unique.
