Easiest, safest, cheapest way to get from Tourism Village to Travellers Rum Center

Visiting Belize for the first time with my DD (23 and 25).  We really only want to do some port shopping and go to the Travellers Rum Center.  No shore excursion just goes to Travellers., which means a cab or a long walk- right?  Are cabs pretty safe?  I am not a skittish tourist, but also don't see a need to put us in any weird situations.  All the private tours I have looked at do more than we want or need to do.  Any suggestions?  TIA!

Taxi.. But make sure it's an official taxi with radio service.  Should cost around US$14 or less.  $14 is 1 person to International Airport.  Could have waiting time as well if you want a return same taxi.   But you can discuss with driver.
