Ponant's Cancelled Cruise List Updated for January - February 2022

Lots going on without much in the way of real information. Lyrial left Ushaia last evening as scheduled, got about as far as Cape Horn, turned around and is now coming back into Ushaia.

Could be a technical or medical issue why they needed to turn around, let’s see how soon they will depart (medical should be only a short time in port)

Now Lyrial is sailing toward Antarctica again. Seems like it was a very quick stop at the port, probably medical issue

Very likely medical issue - also the weather conditions at the Drake Passage not ideal right now, for at least another day or so - so that might have contributed.

And looks like Charcot is also sailing from Punta Arenas as scheduled last night

Just got word that Le Lyrial is cancelled for Feb. 10 because of covid.  They are saying they can switch to L'Boreal on Feb. 11

Correction...that would be the Austral on Feb. 11, 2022

L’Austral should be rested and ready. Their last sailing date was January 13, and even if Ponant was using the ship for COVID crew quarantine & isolation, all of that would have been completed by February 11.

Boreal is still at Punta Arenas. That means its voyage from Ushuaia on Feb 4 is also cancelled. Is Boreal now being used as quarantine ship to keep Charcot running? Charcot's 25-day voyage is coming up in 13 days.

Charcot just left yesterday Punta Arenas for their trip as planned
