QM2 - What was different...

We were on the transatlantic portion of this cruise. Fourmile has done a great job summarizing the changes and responding to questions.

I note one other change:  The room service menu has been slimmed down with no real meals available.

And I note the things that have not changed:  The ship was in terrific shape with all the beautiful public rooms at their lovely best.  The fantastic jazz combo was playing nightly in the Chart Room.  All the weird quirky corners were there to explore and marvel at.  There was a lot of dress-up, ballroom dancing, and high spirits.  On the other hand, the internet service had not changed and was still dismal.  Embarkation in Southampton was a deplorable and dangerous disaster as we waited in a huge crowded line for 90 minutes for a Covid test.  Food quality and atmosphere in Kings Chaos was only a slight step above a high school cafeteria.

Oh and somehow they avoided the tacky sales of T-shirts, etc. in the center atrium, avoiding the atmosphere of the ancient Filene's basement.

But we had a good time and loved being on board our favorite ship.  And we will be back!!!!!!

Attended tea twice during the voyage. Also tested twice (not daily) - one Lateral Flow testing on day three (maybe it was day four) and one on day 10 for requirement to fly back to US.

Was the afternoon tea in the queens room?

On the WB transatlantic portion, yes. Except, towards the end of the crossing, when the Queen's Room was repurposed as a testing center.
