On our recent cruise we just used our set sail passes until rooms were opened. Full access to bars and charging.

I was wondering about that!  Does the set sail pass have documented the purchase of the deluxe beverage package so we can start using it immediately upon boarding?

Yes. And if you're on a ship that doesn't have the "tap" technology yet, like Allure, 9 times out of 10 they don't even ask for your sea pass card.. They ask for your room number and that's it.

Yes also learned if they charge for a drink by mistake  when you have package. They will reverse it.

Hint you don’t have to goto guest services

right away. When you notice no line is when you go to GS .Your on vacation no reason to stand in a line for any time to correct there mistake. They know you have drink package at GS

Yes the Feb 13 sailing reopened yesterday after my issue was resolved.  We have a 2 bedroom aqua suite and RCL bookings cannot handle more than 4 people so they booked 1 child on a separate booking and somehow it got automatically cancelled.  Luckily that was all fixed yesterday and we are paid in full and ready to go.

We shall see you in 4 weeks!!

Question - were any of you notified that the ship was docking during the night at Coco Cay?

They didn't announce it because all that would do is cause questions and maybe even some panic. Anyone following cruising the last few weeks 100% expected it since we didn't do any swap in St Maarten.

I wouldn't expect them to make a mass announcement that we're getting to our usual port a few hours early for them to do something they need to do to keep their ships floating and I honestly think it's a great idea that Royal is doing this as it has zero impact on the cruiser.

Don't read into the YouTube channel video you're referring to.. They title their videos just like the media, to drive views, when in reality it was expected and didn't impact us in the slightest. They have to do it at night or else the gangway closes during the day when they do it and that drives questions, confusion, and frustration which then impacts the cruiser.

That is my issue. Someone on FB is making a big deal about this.  But I remember seeing somewhere that one of the ships did say they would be docking at 3AM to do the transfer so that guests would be able to get off bright and early.  They are acting like the ship was being devious and docked during the night when the weather was bad so guests didn't notice.  Like the Captain is going to risk all those lives and a ship that cost how much?

There was nothing nefarious about how they did this. The object was to not interfer with the guests' cruise experience any more that necessary. There are always some who will be critical even when RCI deserves credit.

Just did the scan the ole SetSail pass barcode trick to see if my guarantee OV balcony room for our Allure OTS cruise on Feb 27th was assigned yet, and low and behold. 12566.

Not to bad! right by the elevators, near mid ship, not below the pool deck. Looks like a room I would pick if I wasn't in the saving money mood. Now for sure, I will not go overboard with the RoyalUp bid. (Pardon the pun)

It's insanity. People not even ON a ship are telling people how bad it is yet they have not sailed in years.
They way they are handling it is both safe in terms of less exposure to passengers and fewer passengers to panic.

One gal on another site was angry that they are not making announcements of the daily Covid count.

Outside of the first day in regards to St Thomas, covid hasn't been mentioned once and it's been refreshing since back home every news story is about it. We both completely understand the risk involved with covid and will never downplay it, but we take our precautions and avoid situations you know could get you into a quarantine or catch it and we've up to this point had a phenomenal cruise

The news just raises my anxiety level.  I won’t like it if they make announcements about Covid on the ship!  I just trust that they will quarantine those who need it and let the rest enjoy their vacation.
I’m so glad you had a great cruise!

I think most of us on board are more concerned about hearing tomorrow's weather in Nassau than the Covid count.
