Anyone have a suggestion on how to get in touch with the Princess' air department, as I am getting really tired of spending over an hour on the phone and not getting anyone?

Try calling in to 1.800.PRINCES when they open.  Only way is to get a PCL rep on the line and ask to be transferred to EZ-Air team.  They may ask you why, so be prepared with a reason.

When you have reserved your international flight on E-Z Air ( with one stop) how do you book your seats and find out how much it will cost to check a bag?

Generally, you can only do this after EZAir actually pays the airfare...usually 45 days out.  Then you can go to the airline website and look at seats.

 

Alternatively, you can request that EZAir go ahead and pay the airfare whenever you feel confident that all is a "go". The tickets then are no longer considered "flexible".

You need to do that with airline.  Use your code supplied with your flight confirmation.  Our Princess flights did not include seat selection or checked baggage fees.  Make sure you peruse flights offered by the airline for prices.  This morning I cancelled our flights with Princess and booked directly with the airline.  Saved us over $500.00 and we were able to choose our seats and get cancellation insurance.
