CDC to Allow the CSO to Expire on 1/15/2022

No changes most likely. They don’t want to end up in a PR nightmare again.


Also, even though this is expiring on paper, I guarantee you that the CDC is having tough conversations behind closed doors basically to the effect of “don’t screw this up or else…”

None of the bigger cruiselines will want to be the "greyed out cruiseline" on the CDC website. This whole "Voluntary" thing is just for CDC PR, they did this "opt in/greyed out if you opt out" thing to force cruiselines into complying, all the while making the CDC look like they weren't forcing the cruiselines to do all these super extraordinary measures for covid mitigation.

The COVID-19 Travel Health Notice level has been updated from Level 3 to Level 4, the highest level. This reflects increases in cases onboard cruise ships since identification of the Omicron variant.
