Ocean Boy Posted January 19, 2022 #51 Share Posted January 19, 2022 I think when I go aboard Allure I will go with the expectations of being on a V/F class ship where I think the shows are fair at best. Anything better than that will be a plus.

Room for 5 nights was over $2000 (we had a less expensive room booked, but the hotel had been damaged in the hurricane, was supposed to reopen in time, but did not). Breakfast ran $30 - $40 per day. Lunches and dinners were $80 - $100 per meal. So a typical day was $400+ for room, $190 - $240 for meals, plus other expenses. So for a 7 night stay, it would have been around $4300. And the room was not as nice as on board. Some of the meals were well above on board quality, but many were about the same. Compare that to a NYE cruise and you’ll find the prices aren’t that much different. To have a good comparison, you’ll have to use a comparable sized cabin compared to the hotel room. You probably didn’t stay in a 180 sq ft room in New Orleans. Also allow for the meals you might not of eaten in New Orleans, we hardly ever eat three meals a day even on a ship.
