So very quiet. Peak lunch time and only 3 tables in use in Yacht Club restaurant, Took another covid test this morning so we can get off in San Juan tomorrow if we want. Actually having a great time so far.

Last night we went to Cabaret Rouge and really enjoy it.

Yesterday we stopped in San Juan. Everyone who wanted to go ashore had to test the day before, but they made it very easy.

Today we're in Puerto Plata and another gorgeous day!! We're sitting next to the Celebrity Silhouette.

Are they using the "new" dock in Puerto Plata?  The upgraded the freighter port to handle passenger ships, I understand.

Help me understand, you come to the port with your negative test, then they test you again at the port?  That's new, I know we didn't do that in August when we went and I know things are changing rapidly and daily.  We are fully vaccinated and boosted.  TIA

Yes, you have to pretest then they test you again at the port. It is something they started when Omicron came about.

For folks in the current sailing, which terminal did Seashore leave from in Miami? I'm boarding on Saturday Jan 29 and cant find info about which terminal to park at. Thanks (I will look check again tomorrow once I arrive in Florida. Woohoo, getting close.)

Page 14 of your cruise documents will show the terminal you depart from. Currently, Seashore sails from Terminal F and the closest parking garage is "G". Hope this helps.

Yes there is a garage but there is an open air lot just prior to the garage which is easier and closer.

We saw a young couple test positive while we were waiting. They were escorted to a quarantine area and eventually were joined by a couple others. Very sad to see.

We docked at Taino Bay, not Amber Cove

Thanks!  From the videos, it looks like it will be very nice after Phase II.  As it looks now, it seems a lot like Grand Turk.

Are they offering special pricing on the Specialty Restaurants ?

What are the “current” specialty prices.

How do you rate the main dining room food ?

Thanks

Can anyone tell me if the spa is 100% open.  We always stay in YC and really enjoy going to the spa and taking advantage going to the different rooms in the spa.  We don’t cruise until July.

It wasn't 100% open per say.  We were told that we needed to reserve certain things so we were not with other people.  If you want to work around the protocalls then yes.

July is 6 mos. away. Many things will change by then. A bit premature to ask this now.

It was very much the typical 'beachside mall' as we call them, but it was clearly laid out with lots of touristy shops on the nicer side. Salespeople weren't overly aggressive, and we had an enjoyable wander.

We didn't do anything other than that because we were in an ultra lazy mood. It did look very sparse once you got outside of the new shops area. We look forward to a future return at some point when we have the interest/energy in doing an excursion too.

We were in YC so only went to MDR for a single breakfast, and the food was 'ok'. The service was outstanding because of what the passenger to staff ratio was like. They would swarm us anytime we looked like we might need or want something.

They do have bundles for 3 or 4 specialty restaurants. We did the 3 bundle of Hola Tacos, Ocean Cay, and Butchers Cut. We bought that many months ago so not sure what current prices are.

In retrospect I don't think I'd bother with the bundle, because you're limited to a special sub-menu for Butcher's Cut, and Hola Tacos had an all-you-can-eat for $17.99 pp they were offering onboard that would have been a better deal. We ended up not even going to Ocean Cay because Rich didn't like anything on the menu and I only liked one thing. (We should have researched the menu more closely before buying the 3-pack) Ocean Cay needs a more diverse menu in our opinion.

Hola Tacos food was very tasty, but their drinks were NOT COVERED BY THE DRINKS PACKAGE, which is a terrible precedent. It's fine to have exclusions like 'any drink over $15' or whatever, but to start carving out exceptions like 'your drinks package doesn't cover drinks in this particular restaurant regardless of cost' is really really annoying.

Butcher's Cut was good (we got the filet and sirloin). A surprise stand-out for me was the banana date pudding dessert. Wow that was delicious!
