San Francisco Hotel Riu to Pier Question

Has anyone stayed at this hotel and chosen to walk from the hotel to board the ship? If so, any comments or suggestions?

I really don't understand why people feel the need to attack certain questions.  I thought a cruise forum, discussing a pleasurable experience, would not be as mean spirited.
