Merger of Saga and Titan operations.

Initially separate companies, then Saga bought out Titan (rumour had it that they really wanted the car and driver fleet,as Titan also ran door to door collection).

Saga have at least once attempted to sell Titan, but no takers.

At the same time as merging the two, they are apparently putting the river cruise arm under the control of the ocean cruise arm. Makes sense, as on the last cruise I was on some people were on board trying to make advance registrations for the new river boats, and frustrated at being told by the on-board sales department that this was a separate branch, and the potential customer would need to contact Saga ashore.

On our only river cruise with Titan, it was surprising how many of the long standing Titan customers were remarking how standards and service had fallen since Saga had taken them over.

Titan sell cruises with other lines including Azamara, Fred. Olsen and Hurtigruten, with home pick ups.  It would be helpful if they would also offer Saga’s optional included travel insurance.

Before the new ships, Saga also also sold cruises with other lines - and included the transport AND the optional insurance.
