jimphil Posted January 29, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2022 Anyone know if you are in Row1 premium seats on Dreamliner, can you have your hand luggage in front of you during the flight, l know it would have to be in overhead lockers for take off and landing. Manchester is blue Posted January 29, 2022 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2022 You can, although it would obviously have a negative impact on the leg room you have spent extra on my our flight ticket, to enjoy. small bags would also fit under the seat. Pensioncruiser Posted January 29, 2022 #3 Share Posted January 29, 2022 If you book the front rows in premium you are restricted with the overhead space as its used for flight equipment. We alway choose row five.
Pensioncruiser Posted January 29, 2022 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2022 You also have to remember that on the port side you have the toilets and passengers will stand in front of you when waiting, starboard is better but you get a lot of noise from the crew in the galley which is not good on a night flight. Pink15 Posted January 29, 2022 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2022 Do you know if you are in a window seat if there is enough room to escape to the toilet without disturbing the person next to you?

The premium configuration is 2-3-2, if you are on starboard side you have to go out of premium to visit the loo unless the crew will let you go through the galley. If the seat in front of you is reclined you will struggle to get out anyway.
Pink15 Posted January 30, 2022 #9 Share Posted January 30, 2022 I've always had aisle seats as I don't like to disturb other people, but am booked in premium for USA next year. Thought it might be easier to sleep in a window seat. But prefer not to be 'trapped'. Noted about port and star board though, good tip.
Rare Jim The Scot Posted January 30, 2022 #10 Share Posted January 30, 2022 Also booked in premium for USA cruise next year.Row 5 Port Side, two seats, window and aisle. Done it before and loved it
idh2019 Posted January 30, 2022 #11 Share Posted January 30, 2022 Don't overthink it - you could be in the non-premium section! If you are solo, why not choose one of the centre aisle seats? Definitely not a window seat.
Pensioncruiser Posted January 30, 2022 #12 Share Posted January 30, 2022 A solo passenger cannot book a window seat, especially in premium, well thats how it was in the past. 😉

Pink15 Posted January 31, 2022 #14 Share Posted January 31, 2022 Seems harsh that I may not be able to be by the window - does this mean I can book seat B and leave seat A free?! I will have to experiment with that! (I have always been considerate in the past when taking just one seat). I do always have aisle seats whatever plane I am on, just thought with an overnight return flight it might be better by the window.

It's a little different in premium on the 787, have a look at the seating layout, ie the window seat is A but the next one is C not B, Think if I was solo flying in premium I would go for an isle seat so you have no probems with exit and passengers next to you do not have to bother you. Also you can't see a lot on a night flight.
pennib Posted January 31, 2022 #16 Share Posted January 31, 2022 Be aware that row 7 does not have a window. Not a problem on a night flight but may not be welcomed on a day flight.
