No hotel in Hong Kong

Tried to book a hotel for Dec 1 to 5 at the end of our cruise

hotel came back and said no unless I had not been out of Hong Kong in the 21 days prior to my stay

explained I was arriving on a cruise ship and they said sorry but no booking

 

has anyone had success in booking a hotel in Hong Kong without this restriction

Th answer your question, I have booked the JW Marriott Hong Kong for Jan 3 (3 nights) thru Marriott's website with no problem. We will disembarking Solstice there. 

 

We will see if this cruise actually happens...

Hi we have friends who live in HK, originally from the UK, they are not allowed out to visit family in England without a 21 day quarantine on their return in a Chinese facility and then hotel. Things are very strict there at the moment hence their parents have not visited them as it would mean an extensive time in quarantine for them also at the moment

We’re booked on Solstice for HK in Jan 2023 and not over confident that this is going to happen! We’ve been trying to do this SE Asia itinerary since it first got cancelled in Feb 2020. We rebooked for 2022 but eventually pushed that back to 2023, with the thinking travel restrictions would be well behind us by then. But HK is still shut with no obvious plans for changing that!

Note that your stay in a quarantine hotel is at your expense, cost about $1100+ USD, meals NOT included. No room cleaning, towel animal, or chocolate mint on your pillow. You are tested regularly and if you test positive you are whisked away to a hospital; your hotel companion may also be taken to the hospital.
