amandajean06 Posted February 24, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2022 Very excited and feeling blessed about this one, but we had to work for it!!! We are sailing in 3 weeks on Mardi Gras, and our family has two cabins booked. One is an inside on an Early Saver rate that our PVP helped us match to a resident rate, which was $60 pp cheaper. So, that stateroom (my parents) got $120 in OBC since we are past final payment. The second room, a Family Harbor OV for me, my husband, and our two kids, was a little tougher to deal with, but our awesome PVP made it happen! We are booked under the OWV casino rate, which dropped a whopping $400 total this week. I was on hold for an hour for two days and didn't get anywhere with the casino dept., as we were told the only way to get that price would be to cancel and re-book, which we could not do without penalty since it was past the Feb. 15 deadline for changing without penalty. I reached out to our PVP for help, and after two days of trying, he was able to get an exemption and we now have the $400 price difference in the form of OBC! Bless his heart! Booked Rudi's and the Steakhouse as a celebration, since we usually never do Specialty Dining. We've heard great things about both on Mardi Gras. Moral of the story is...I want to kiss our PVP!!! And also, if you see a price drop or a new deal, don't give up! Someone, somewhere, should be able to help you. 23 Days!!!
Rare ninjacat123 Posted February 24, 2022 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2022 That's awesome! PVPs are a big help in my opinion. I was booking another cruise and my PVP said she could get us some money back on an already booked cruise. I wasn't looking for it and would have missed the rate reduction. Have a great cruise!
cmukid87 Posted February 24, 2022 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2022 I have contacted my PVP 4 times in the last 4 weeks. Each for a price reduction. Spring break cruise we are up to $900 OBC. Turned that into cheers, bubbles and daily service fees being paid!
Rudyard Posted February 25, 2022 #4 Share Posted February 25, 2022 We got a really good rate on our cruise next week so I never even thought about a price drop. It was a casino rate for $15pp interior, but we upgraded to a Lido balcony for $210pp. Still a great deal at less than half the usual price. A couple of weeks ago I got a call out of the blue from my PVP telling me he had checked for price drops without me even asking, and we now have $200 OBC.
