Eastern Caribbean out of Galveston

I was on the Feb 12 sailing.  I found the choices of food in the MDR less desirable for me.  When I did order the food was good but some choices were not to my liking.  I ate on the Lido deck or grabbed a pizza.

The 80's pop show was good but America Rocks stunk in my opinion.  The lead female singer was singing bravado to rock songs???  Not the right place for bravo.  the other singers were just so so.

Went to the comedy show and the comedian was ok.

Trivia as usual, same ole same ole, never found the casino to be packed except  on the first night.  Did not attend any deck parties.

Key West and Half moon cay were canceled.  Only 2 ports and 6 sea days.  I would rather have 6 ports and 2 sea days.

Most of the people wore that masks and I never saw a carnival employee have to correct someone for not wearing their masks.

Hope this helps.

Went in February.  I had never been to the Bahamas or Half Moon Cay, and I had a great time.  Nassau was much better than I anticipated after reading so many negatives, and Half Moon Cay is just gorgeous.  We booked after Key West was removed, so that wasn't a surprise.

I was on the 8 day on the Dream in October.  My first cruise back since shut down.  The Dream was an average Carnival ship, I liked it better than the Breeze (which we went on in December).  The casino was larger and the nonsmoking casino was about double the size it was on the Breeze.  I cannot say much about the food since I do not particularly like Carnivals MDR food. Guys Burgers and the pizza were great.  The buffet is a buffet with little selection, but typical Carnival buffet. Bacon was being rationed (only available on certain days) at the buffet but you could get it if you went to breakfast in the MDR. I am not sure if they are still doing this. The casino did give me two steak dinner upgrades in the MDR which were ok but not worth the price they were charging. I also am not fan of the entertainment on Carnival, I never go to the shows, I spend a lot time on my balcony or in the casino.  The only port we missed was Key West, but it sounds like they may be getting close to an agreement with them to allow ships back in.  HMC was great, we had a Cabana, would defiantly like to go back.  In Nassau we did a walking tour and it was nice.  In Freeport we went kayaking and it was really fun, the tour guides were great.

The only reason I would book the 8 day is it's the only way to get to half moon cay from texas. I'd have been not happy at all to pay extra for a 8 day and then miss the port I booked the cruise to get to.

Looking at a 8 day this august ..

I knew Key West was canceled before I got on the ship and HMC was canceled due to 35 mile an hour winds.  I was looking at another 8 day too but I want to stop in Key West and they are not letting the big ships in for now.  That's a lot of revenue for Key West to be giving up??  Whatever, their choice I guess.

I completely agree that HMC is wonderful.  I suppose this whole thing works if one is from Texas and surrounding states and drives to the port.  But if an airplane is involved, MIA/FLL or MCO should be the destination for an 8 day every day and twice on Sunday. Just my opinion, of course.
