Recommendation for live music in family friendly New Orleans venue.

Wife and I are in New Orleans March 25 & 26. Staying near the World War II museum before our cruise. Looking for recommendations for a family friendly place (we would not be into the Bourbon Street thing) to listen to live music (Jazz, R & B)? Would prefer walking distance, between hotel and French Market area. Thanks for the help.

Look at Mulate's.  I think it is walkable from your area.  It is a Cajun restaurant with good food, but I think you can go just for music and dancing.  When we were then many years ago, there was a "host" named Bill who taught the ladies how to do the cajun waltz.  We had a hoot when we were there.
