FLL airport to Port of Miami transportation

I am thinking of flying into Ft. Lauderdale for a Carnival cruise that sails out of Miami.  What kind of transportation is available for this?  How early in the day should we arrive if we plan to fly and sail on the same day?

The ride from FLL to POM takes about 40+ minutes.  If you are flying in the day of your cruise I would arrive as early as possible. Lots of shared shuttles, with fares starting at about $15+ per person each way.  SAS (www.ridesas.com) is often suggested on this board. Or use UberX or Lyft for about $50+ for the car - can on the same run will be about $75+ on the meter.
