Nghthawke Posted March 8, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2022 Will be sailing on the Nieuw Statendam on 7 September. We were thinking of taking the train but it would not be arriving at the station until 4:30 in the afternoon. How late do the embarkation staff stay at the Port du Québec to do passenger check-in, photo, etc. ? The ship doesn't leave until the next day 8 September so I'm not worried about missing the sail away 🙂 !

Broon Posted March 24, 2022 #3 Share Posted March 24, 2022 I am interested in the answer to this question. We are booked on the same cruise and are considering the train to get to Quebec.

The port folks themselves are there when things get busy during normal embarkation hours, but the ship's security team/purser should be able to do the same thing for you at off hours. The ships gangway is open 24/7 while the ship overnights so there is always someone there. We have done this with Seabourn during an overnight stop where we joined a trip mid voyage and didn't arrive until about 7pm. Seabourn and HAL are sister companies so I'm sure theres some sort of similar process.
Nghthawke Posted March 25, 2022 Author #5 Share Posted March 25, 2022 Thanks for the reply. We decided to book an earlier train arriving in Quebec City around noon. We're hoping we'll get lucky and get to board one of the new VIA Rail trains.
