barriedavis Posted March 13, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2022 For various reasons, I spend quite a lot of time in the cabin especially on sea days. I am experimenting with a media player to take with me so that I can take my own chosen films and entertainment with me. Has anyone tried to use one? Is anyone aware of the available connections at the back of the TV? I have tried in the past with older TVs and found that some of the connections have been disabled. I am looking particularly at Sky and Regal Princess equipment.
K.T.B. Posted March 13, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2022 Doesn't work. I tired it on my cruise and I think the HDMI port had been disabled. I was slightly disappointed, but I at least tried.
MissP22 Posted March 13, 2022 #3 Share Posted March 13, 2022 Switching HDMI inputs on the Enchanted works great. We've connected our Roku device for movies and watched 4 or 5 already. We haven't been able to connect to the internet with the Roku but only watch out own movies. Reaching the input on the back of the TV wasn't a problem either. Don't forget an electrical extension cord.

I can't say for certain...but I'd be very surprised if any two ships in the fleet were to have the same TVs and remotes. There has been a LOT of discussion in various threads on this very topic...some people *swear* that they have the answer. But they rarely state for which ship their instructions were intended and whether they have actually tested on more than one ship. I'm glad to hear that @MissP22 had success on the Enchanted. I personally have not been on that ship yet. (Slowly working to cruise on them ALL!) 😄
