Hi new to HAL. When do you get boarding passes. We are 44 days to sailing and boarding pass light on website still off so cant print. Do we use app or is it not available yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I think we were able to print about 30 days out, but decided to wait just in case we got an upsell offer and we did, at 25 days out.

Suggestion ... download the Navigator app from your app store to your phone.  Your boarding pass will be on Navigator and you won't need a printed copy ... it will appear when it's ready.  With Navigator, you really won't need any printed materials once you're aboard ship.

We were traveling in Europe in September and October, 2021 and never had the chance to print our boarding passes or luggage tags for the Rotterdam transatlantic sailing from Amsterdam.  We showed up at the cruise terminal on the afternoon of departure.  We had done the online checkin, so HAL had our credit card information and we knew our cabin number.   The baggage handlers filled in the luggage tags and affixed them to our bags.   We presented our passports at the check in desk.  Our room keys were in our cabins.  If we had our luggage tags and boarding passes, we might have saved a few minutes.  I do not think the lack of a boarding pass will be a problem.

For our 12/01/21 Rotterdam cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale, our boarding time changed four times in two weeks (first time was about 30 days before, last time was three days before). No worries. We arrived an hour early, had to be tested at the pier, and were still in our cabin in under 40 minutes from baggage drop at the entrance to the pier.

For our Rotterdam cruise out of Ft Lauderdale last week, we never actually showed a boarding pass to anyone, not a paper one and not on the Navigator app. Instead, we showed our VeriFly app, and that was, apparently, enough.

We just got our FINAL boarding passes at 15 days prior.  This one has a bar code in the lower left corner.

Yes, it's important that you don't print your boarding pass too early - you need the one with the bar code to be official. If departing from an overseas port, I would recommend printing them out instead of using your phone as there's no guarantee your wifi or cell connection is available. Assuming you're not flying in on the day of the overseas cruise, you likely can print out the pass at your hotel for free.

Great tip!
