samplecd02 Posted April 4, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2022 I just upgraded from a Sky Suite to a Celebrity Suite. Wondering if anyone has been in one and your thoughts?

Wondering if anyone has been in one and your thoughts? Many times. Whereas a Sky Suite is about 1.5x the size of a regular balcony the Celebrity Suite is double the size of a regular balcony. It also has a separate bedroom whereas the Sky Suite is more of a studio. I do suggest bringing an outlet strip (I use a plug that makes one outlet into 3). I don’t think the Celebrity suite has enough outlets for charging multiple phones while my wife uses her hair iron. is it worth it - I don’t know. Matter of preference. samplecd02 Posted April 4, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted April 4, 2022 Also question, I avoid the bathrobes in hotels because I am always concerned they have been used ( I know its no different than towels, but its one of my quirks) Have they been used and washed like the towels or are they brand new that you can also take home? They have been used and washed between guest. If you take the one from your Celebrity Suite home, expect to be billed for it. They do not give free bathrobes to Celebrity Suite guest. Rare garyl62 Posted April 4, 2022 #8 Share Posted April 4, 2022 I can't offer any opinion on this one, we've not yet sailed in a CS on an Edge Class Ship, but we just booked one on the Apex so I'll follow along also!

On our cruise we saw the staff wheeling a cart full or robes on hangers going to the rooms to drop them off.
George C Posted April 4, 2022 #10 Share Posted April 4, 2022 I was on one in M class , just looked at floor plan for it on beyond, approximately 500 sq ft , separate bedroom, looked nice .
t18c97 Posted April 4, 2022 #11 Share Posted April 4, 2022 We did a move up from a SS to a CS on the Apex and loved it. Then balcony with lots of space to the separate rooms for the WC and shower. The problem is once going upscale it will be hard to downsize for any future cruise.

I got lucky and have not faced that delima. we did a back to back with the first leg in an aft corner S1 and the second leg in a CS. She who must be obeyed like the aft corner S1 better because of the view. I feel like I dodged a big bullet!
Straughn Posted April 5, 2022 #13 Share Posted April 5, 2022 The primary difference between a Sky Suite and a CS is real estate. Perks wise there is no difference. Having said that, I have sailed in a CS on S class ships several times. From looking at pictures, I don’t see a tremendous difference in the CS on an S class ship and an E class ship, other than the bathroom layout. The extra space is great. When I sail with a close friend, we love the extra closet space and the larger balcony. If you are sailing with kids, much nicer to put them on the fold out couch in the living room than sharing a room with them. The other advantages are: you should be contacted by the shoreside concierge prior to your cruise for any special requests. You should be escorted on the ship when you check in. Note that I have said “should”. I have always experienced both when in a CS, but there are reports from others who have not.

We have a RS booked for an Alaska cruise this August (we originally booked a guarantee CS and they assigned us the RS) so when I booked a British Isle cruise for 2023 also booked a RS figuring I'd be disappointed if we weren't in it again.

Agree that you're are paying for the extra real estate and I both accept and enjoy this. It would however be nice if they reintroduced some comp speciality dining. Maybe it's deliberate to push up to a RS 🤣

Good size balcony. Easy access to Luminae, Retreat Lounge, and Retreat Sun Deck. Cons: No loungers or foot stools for balcony. Bottom line: Would definitely book a Celebrity Suite on an Edge class ship again.
Momma Rene Posted April 5, 2022 #20 Share Posted April 5, 2022 We will be in a CS on the Reflection, cabin 1233. We chose that cabin because it is on the slant and a larger cabin. We went from a balcony to a sky suite, a sky suite on the rear of the ship and now to a Celebrity Suite. We wanted a cabin mid ship this time so we could enjoy the large balcony. It is unfortunate that the Reflection does not have a special suite area like the Edge ships have. Anyone know about that cabin in terms of wind, butler, etc.? travlr21 Posted April 5, 2022 #21 Share Posted April 5, 2022 I accept that robes are washed and reused. What bothers me is that new laundered robes are placed in your cabin on the last night of your cruise, in preparation for incoming guests. At least that was the case for us pre covid. We are sailing in May, for the first time in a Celebrity Suite. Looking forward to our first cruise in 3 years.

When we got out CS there were no robes in the room. Later that day we say staff pushing carts through the halls that were full of cleaned robes, ours didn’t arrive until the evening turn down service. MarKay525 Posted April 5, 2022 #23 Share Posted April 5, 2022 Just came off the Edge in a Sky Suite - did notice that "fresh" bathrobes were hung in our closet during dinner on the last night. Only two hangers with our next-morning clothes were in the closet at that time, for what it's worth. We made a point of not touching them. If this concerns you, ask you Room Steward/Personal Retreat Host for a new one. I doubt they would bring you one in a package unless you were purchasing it, but one can always ask. The Celebrity Suite on an S class ship has a nice L shaped sofa and the bedroom has a real door. There is a window into the living room from the bedroom if you want light from the outside but you can shut the shade for darkness in the evening if someone is watching TV in the living room. We had an additional swivel tub chair. There is a separate desk area which is perfect for ladies make-up. Bigger balcony, round table 4 chairs out there. The Celebrity Suite on the Edge class has a regular straight sofa with a huge ottoman in front of one end. The doors to the separate bedroom are sliders and have frosted glass so any light from a late night TV watcher comes right into the bedroom. Also, not at all soundproof like the S class. Balcony is bigger but only a smaller square table and two chairs plus 2 lounger type upright chairs. We used the round plastic column from inside as a footstool. Inside, there are 2 very large tree stumps painted white that were just in the way. There was a rocker with very long rungs that we kept hitting our ankles on. Going from the S class Celebrity Suite to the Edge class CS was a bit of a disappointment -- but still very nice and roomier than a sky suite. I like the sky suite bathroom much better, though than the two part CS bathroom.
lizinindy Posted April 5, 2022 #25 Share Posted April 5, 2022 Keep in mind, we were on back to back cruises on the Apex...and the first week, we lucked into the iconic suite so maybe moving down to the CS for week 2, we were just spoiled for anything else! Ha ha ha!
