The never ending "72 hour or 3 Day Sale"

It seems like they have been running one of these non-stop now. Aren't they essential the same thing? Why not just have a month long sale. NCL seems to have the never ending "5  for Free Sale"

Just like airlines and hotel rooms - fares change by the hour and the day. Hospitality venues adjust as necessary, as do their guests. The customer is the one ultimately in charge of when a booking makes the most sense for their preferences with acceptability fare and/or benefits. Sometimes the promos are a benefit and sometimes not. To each of us, it "just depends on what is important to us"!

They added gratuities  - that's a pretty good deal.

Well....it sounds like a good deal but when my TA checked , the cabin  rate when up ( assuming to cover those gratuities) and they took away OBC....so not so much....We did NOT buy into it. Waiting for a better deal.

I, for one, am very pleased they ran this promo! The price on my particular cruise actually went down. I re-fared, and inaddition to the drinks package, included gratuities, and dining package I already had, now I also have $200/person shore excursion credit and free WiFi. I was also upgraded from a fully obstructed ocean view to a regular ocean view - and I was reimbursed $117. I’ve monitored the promos and prices since booking at the end of 2020, and this has been the best price and package yet for my particular cruise.

Me too! I check all of my sailings on a very regular basis (as in at least 1x a week if not more) and my TA always keeps an eye too.  I got gratuities on multiple sailings thanks to the black Friday/cyber Monday sale but I have also lost the gratuities in exchange for several hundred dollars in lower fares after a promo.

It really depends on the sailing. My strategy has always been to book as early as possible and monitor prices as you can always cancel or refare up until final payment. In many cases I have been able to get a lower fare, but on other sailings the first price I booked was the lowest it ever was.

Agreed..we do the same. This  was the first time that refaring was not good option for us. But I will keep watching!

In the past I have always rechecked my fare whenever I saw a "sale" or at least once a week.  However, when we started getting casino offers it changed our approach.  If we got a "free cabin" offer and accpeted it, there is little to no reason to check as it does not go lower (even if you upgraded your cabin) plus the deal goes away in short order and is non-refundable,

On a casino RATE discount, I still check fares and can/do rebook.  On our cruise two weeks ago I never did find a better deal vs my original booking due to lots of "freebies" included.
