New cruiser from Atlanta Posted March 10, 2006 #26 Share Posted March 10, 2006 Thanks for the suggestion ... we booked Southwest. I had already booked the departure flight to FLL months ago because it was really cheap. I hesitated on booking the return trip because I couldnt decide whether to fly out of FLL or MIA. I'd verify at least once per week and make sure everything is printed out and carried with you.
Rare FlyerTalker Posted March 16, 2006 #29 Share Posted March 16, 2006 Here's a small piece of advice for all those who ask when they should be buying a ticket. When you know that the demand for tickets will be high - buy as far out as possible. For example, if you wanted tickets for the Sunday after Thanksgiving, you KNOW it's going to be a high demand day. Get your tickets while you can. Ditto if you know that five ships will be dropping off 10,000 passengers all trying to leave town. Everyone will be trying to get seats, and the longer you wait, the tougher it will probably be. Yes, the price may vary some, and you might have been able to save a few bucks. But think in terms of the emotional stress that you don't have to put yourself through. OTOH, if you're on a small Silversea ship, you probably don't have that much to worry about (unless you're at some small port with limited air service).
