New to Cruising-Pop package upgrades?

Our family is taking our first cruise this coming new years on the Escape.  My husband and I will have the included drink package, but we will be purchasing the pop package for our tweens/teens.  They do enjoy virgin cocktails though, which I know are not included in the pop packages.  If they would like to order a virgin cocktail, would the cost be the same as an alcoholic beverage? Or do they have a reduced fee for such drinks?

If you pay for a virgin cocktail, it will cost less than one with alcohol.

 

Not that I would promote fraud, but order a virgin cocktail for yourself and, out of eyesight of the bar staff, hand it off to your teens. You can order two drinks at a time. Always remembering that if you were "caught", you would lose your drinks package.

I've sailed three times with NCL with my two daughters, as long as 15 day sailings . I've come to this conclusion. If you take care of your bar tenders and pool side servers with a $1 per drink cash tip for the drinks for you two I find that the bartenders will give your daughters things like Virgin mudslides for free. Put it this way .... I've never once been charged for my two kids virgin drinks over the years . Is it luck or Is it because of the  cash tips .... The "you take care of me and I'll take care of you " type scenario maybe.
