What is cell service like in Dover?

My husband, children and I are going to be in the UK for about 3 weeks in July/August. We are going to The Open and then doing a UK cruise July 22-31.  He is a physician and plans to set aside one day to handle business matters with his clinic and it seems to me the best day to do this is the day before we leave on our cruise when we will be in Dover.  However, he will need either good cell phone service or internet to be in contact with the US.  When we have been to the UK before, we did not get very good cell phone service except when we were in London even though we have an international plan.  I was wondering if the cell phone service in Dover is decent and/or if you can recommend any hotels that have good internet.

4G Cell coverage is pretty good in Dover . The Best Western Dover Marina Hotel is excellent short taxi ride to cruise check in and free wifi- it get booked very quickly.
