Wonder of the Seas Inaugural Cruise Post Trip Report 4th March - 11th March 2022

Recommended Posts

Hi guys! Since my first and last review on Quantum, i was thinking of sharing my Wonder inaugural but from a post cruise perspective. I was intrigued to see how something like this would do, seeing as most trip reports on the boards are live ones, which are great. But you know its been so hectic coming back i haven't had time to gather myself until now. There'll be many pictures, and maybe i might even compile a video of some highlights from the trip!

How does that sound? I hope it sounds exciting!

Ports: Labadee, Haiti, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Nassau, Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay, Bahamas

March 4th - Embarkation

March 5th - At Sea

March 6th - Labadee, Haiti

March 7th - San Juan, Puerto Rico

March 8th - At Sea

March 9th - Nassau, Bahamas

March 10th - Perfect Day at CocoCay, Bahamas

Also because this is not live, i have the essence of time, and can slowly recap on things without being too rushed. Hope you all enjoy! I also did you a B2B, the second cruise was a 7N Western Caribbean! Let me know if you're interested in seeing that as well!

Day 1 (Embarkation Day at Fort Lauderdale, PE):

We arrived at Terminal 18 at 10:30am. It was a 5 minute car ride from where he had been staying the few nights before at The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina.20220304_105826.thumb.jpg.575ea1b151f94188b682f6c218271ffc.jpg

The Terminal was full of flowers and Wonder posters and banners welcoming her home for the short season in Port Everglades.

Check-in was very thorough, but a much smoother and efficient process to what we are familiar with back home in Singapore (no wonder they can afford to homeport several Oasis class ships on the Floridian coast for so many years!). Because we arrived early to the terminal, we were seated on the upper level waiting for the boarding bridge to open at 11am. Boarding has never been more fun on an inaugural cruise, with all the cheering and enthusiastic energy all around!

This is my first time on the Oasis class and boy oh boy is it big! Heading up on deck overlooking central park, I couldn't stop marvelling at how wide and large this ship felt. And i absolutely love how colourful and bright the pool deck is! Makes a world of a difference compared to some other ships i've been on in the past!

The whole afternoon was spent walking around, attending some meet and greet events and getting to know the crew as well! Given how big the ship is as well, I spent plenty of time walking around trying to figure out where things were to get our bearings. Even a week later by the end of the cruise, I would only just get around that Central Park and the Boardwalk were 2 decks apart when i always thought they were on the same. I made that mistake many times pressing decks 8 for boardwalk and deck 6 for central park by accident.

Manage to grab a few pics of the Coastal Kitchen/Suite Lounge on Deck 17. It has some nice views overlooking the aft sports deck of the ship! Suite key cards are required to access Coastal Kitchen, Suite Lounge on Deck 17 and Suite Sun Deck on Deck 18.

Celebrity Equinox left the port half an hour before us!

Departure was at 5pm, in the golden hour. It was a pretty spectacular sight watching the apartments go by as we pulled out of the port past the beach to head out in open water.

If you're wondering what it looks like from down there 🙂 This was taken 2 days before, on the sailing for Royal's staff.
