Longstockingpippi1 Posted April 22, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2022 I am not doing a full “live review “ just wanna pass along tidbits here and there while trying to conserve my internet minutes. Took Amtrak from New Haven to save stress and take a break from driving. My daughter, her wheelchair and two suitcases and two carry ons got a cab from South station to cruise port $15.40 , maybe try Lyft?! Got to cruise port at 11:30 , light crowd 👍. Word was this sailing is light compared to last week. Think I heard 1300, will try to confirm. After getting the green dots on our passports, I was told no boarding till 1pm. We all waited on the street level, no one was allowed upstairs. Finally about 12:15 “they opened the gates” and we all cheered. Went pretty smooth. They started boarding around 12:30, the rooms are ready announcement was made shortly after one. It is 3:30 and they are trying to get the holdouts to the muster stations so we can prepare to depart. The dock is quiet and totally empty, however we are still hooked up to the bridge. What a great day 😃.

papajak Posted April 23, 2022 #8 Share Posted April 23, 2022 Thanks for taking the time to do this! I'm excited to follow along! No door decorating? That's disapointing. Is that new? I usually sail RC and we always decorate.

Helped us find our stateroom faster especially the first few days onboard. Hard to remember as its been a few years since we sailed but is there a mailbox next to door. Wonder if we could put a small decoration on that?
Longstockingpippi1 Posted April 28, 2022 Author #11 Share Posted April 28, 2022 On our arrival day, Sunday, a couple hundred of us took NCL’s ferry over to St . George. And I’m glad we did because NCL’s ferry was canceled the next two days due to the weather . Bermuda’s ferry ran though, here is the schedule
Longstockingpippi1 Posted April 29, 2022 Author #12 Share Posted April 29, 2022 In Bar Harbor it took a couple attempts but they finally got the ship in a good location to run the tenders. Started off dreary and cloudy but as the day went on it improved enough so people went ashore. They extended port time till 1830.
Longstockingpippi1 Posted April 29, 2022 Author #13 Share Posted April 29, 2022 Pre/purchased the thermal spa was $139, on board it was $186. I also checked to see if the ladies room inside the fitness center still had the herbal steam room and yes it was still there and still free. Small but free. papajak Posted April 29, 2022 #16 Share Posted April 29, 2022 How was St. George? From what I've been reading it sounds sad. Was anything open on a Sunday?
Longstockingpippi1 Posted April 29, 2022 Author #17 Share Posted April 29, 2022 Most shops closed, a couple restaurants open and busy. Tough to navigate while pushing my daughter’s wheelchair. If I was solo I would have had a different experience.

emilysmom97 Posted April 29, 2022 #19 Share Posted April 29, 2022 Thanks for the updates. We're sailing on May 13th. I was hoping no muster drill since online check in made you watch how to wear the life vests. How was capacity?

Was some very steep climbing . It was only after I left the museum and studied the brochure that there appears to be an elevator that could have taken us to the second and third floors.
