weechloe Posted February 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2006 I am from Ontario and I was wondering if I can still purchase cancellation insurance for my cruise on March 19th. It totally slipped our minds when we made our booking. Is it too late?
Janet524 Posted February 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2006 I'm pretty sure you can buy insurance "after the fact". Check insuremytrip.com - they will give you some options for coverage and carriers. I know that friends of ours forgot to get insurance at booking time and they did get it later but at a surcharge. serene56 Posted February 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2006 the longer you wait the higher it will cost. Above poster gave you a great site to check- you can buy insurance up til leaving. but doing that will exclude pre-exisiting conditions.
franu Posted February 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2006 I suggest you contact your travel agent as soon as possible. I know that the answers that you have received come straight from the heart but as you pointed out you are from Ontario. As I have learned, there is a big difference in insurance rules and regulations here in Ontario. If you don't get a positive answer, then you might be checking in the US because of your proximity to Michigan. Good Luck and have a good trip Fran
weechloe Posted February 26, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted February 26, 2006 Happy to say I found Access America and got insurance. Cancellation, interruption and medical. The coverage started last night at midnight. $67 for $1500 trip. And good coverage for everything including baggage delay, cancellation etcetera. A lot of the companies only insured U.S. residents.
